The Cook County Assessor’s Office writes to inform you that in October 2025, the Cook County Board of Commissioners approved an increase to fees charged for Incentive applications and Division petitions.
The County Fee Ordinance, Sec. 32-32.1, increases the property Incentive application fee to $1,000, while eliminating the second step or class change fee.
The Ordinance sets the application for the state Affordable Housing Special Assessment program at $750 for one to three buildings, $1,000 for properties with fourth to seven buildings, and $1,500 for those with more than seven buildings.
Additionally, the Ordinance increases Division fees to $100 for for petitions filed prior to September 1st (with 1-3 tracts) and to $300 for petitions filed between September 1st and October 31st. Additional tracts will cost $20 per tract for early filing and $60 per tract for petitions filed after September 1st. The Assessor’s Office will apply these fees as of January 1, 2026.
