The Cook County Treasurer has started processing PTAB refunds. Refunds were suspended in May 2025, due to what has been surmised as a computer glitch affecting the entire Cook County tax system. See the below posting from the Treasurer’s website.

The Cook County Treasurer’s Office received approximately 3,318 decisions from the Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB) on April 15, 2025. Refund checks based on these decisions are expected to be issued through April 2026.
